Hi, I’m Joris Alkema.
I have completed my MSc in Computer Science at Leiden University and live in Leiden. Outside work, I am a sports enthusiast: a bad 5K runner and probably a worse swimmer.
I work part-time as an MLOps / Cloud Engineer at Braincreators, focusing on Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure and ML inference. In October 2026, I will also start as a Pre-PhD Researcher with Leiden University’s Network Science Group, within PLANET-NL.
My MSc thesis became my first paper, Fast and Effective Search for Budgeted Network Anonymization. It has been accepted at COMPLEX NETWORKS 2026 and is forthcoming.
Curious about my work? See my CV for the details.
